Menopause Sisters in Business

About Us

We are two sisters

with over 45 years of

combined experience

in HR, employment law,

leadership, and

menopause coaching.

Here is our story.

OUR STORY

Menopause Support Services was not built in a boardroom. It was built from lived experience, decades of professional expertise, and a conversation between two sisters who had both seen, from very different angles, what happens when workplaces fail women at midlife.

Amanda had spent 25 years in senior leadership, leading teams, driving strategy, and supporting organisations through change. When she navigated her own menopause while running operations at an executive level, she understood first-hand how invisible and unsupported that experience can feel, even for women at the top. She went on to train as an accredited menopause coach under Lauren Chiren of Women of a Certain Stage, one of the UK's leading specialists in executive menopause education, and became a licensed business partner with the Menopause Experts Group, an organisation endorsed by GPs and clinical specialists across 24 countries.

Emma had spent more than 20 years as an HR professional and employment law specialist, working at executive level across multiple sectors. She had supported hundreds of people through difficult moments in their careers and their lives. She had also watched menopause go unnamed in countless conversations about performance, absence, and retention. She knew the legislation, the risk, and the human cost of getting it wrong.

When the Employee Rights Bill placed formal requirements on organisations with 250 or more employees to produce a documented Menopause Action Plan, we looked at each other and knew exactly what to do.

We bring together Amanda's coaching expertise and MEG-accredited menopause specialism with Emma's HR and employment law background to give organisations something they rarely find in one place: end-to-end support that is commercially grounded, legally informed, and genuinely human.

We are not a training provider who delivers a workshop and moves on. We are a consultancy partner who helps organisations understand where they are, design a practical path forward, and embed change that lasts.

Built by women. For workplaces. Because we have lived it.

MEET AMANDA

Amanda Carlile, Co-Founder

I am an accredited NLP coach, certified menopause coach, and licensed business partner with the Menopause Experts Group. I trained under Lauren Chiren of Women of a Certain Stage, one of the UK's leading specialists in executive menopause education, and I bring over 25 years of senior leadership experience to my work with organisations.

My coaching and consultancy work focuses on helping organisations create cultures where women can thrive at every stage of their career, with particular expertise in supporting senior and executive women navigating menopause while leading teams.

I bring my own lived experience of navigating menopause in a demanding leadership role to everything I do. That combination of professional credibility and personal understanding is rare, and it is at the heart of what MSS delivers.

MEET EMMA

Emma Carlile, Co-Founder

I am an MCIPD-qualified HR professional and employment law specialist with over 20 years of executive-level experience across multiple sectors. I have spent my career helping organisations navigate complex people challenges, from policy design and governance to supporting individuals through some of the most significant moments of their working lives.

I bring deep practical knowledge of UK employment law, HR strategy, and organisational change to MSS. I lead on policy development, Menopause Action Plan consultancy, and the employment law aspects of our client work, ensuring that everything we deliver is not only compassionate but commercially sound and legally compliant.

My belief is simple: when organisations get menopause support right, everyone benefits. Women stay, perform better, and lead with confidence. Managers gain capability and clarity. And organisations reduce risk while building a culture they can be genuinely proud of.

Through Amanda's guidance, I grew into my role, stood taller in meetings, and reclaimed clarity during a personally complex season. Her niche expertise in perimenopause and menopause coaching is more than just a specialty, it is a true superpower in today's workplace.

What colleagues say about Emma:

"After working with Emma for more than 18 years, I can say without hesitation that she is one of the most caring, grounded, and instinctively supportive people I have ever known. She has always had a natural ability to make people feel understood and valued, especially during the moments when they needed it most. Seeing her bring that same compassion and strength into her menopause work feels exactly right. She has spent her whole career helping people navigate difficult transitions with dignity and confidence, and now she is doing it in a space where her impact is genuinely life-changing. Anyone who works with her will feel what I felt for nearly two decades: trust, reassurance, and the comfort of knowing you are in very capable hands."

R. Philpott, Director

"Emma has a way of making you feel listened to and understood, no matter what is going on. I saw her support so many people through big moments in their lives and careers, including myself, and she always did it with kindness, care, and real honesty. When Emma told me she was going to be focusing her work on menopause support, it made perfect sense. She has been doing this kind of caring, thoughtful work her whole career, except now she is bringing it to a space where it is desperately needed. Anyone who works with Emma is incredibly lucky and will feel instantly at ease, listened to, and genuinely supported. That is just who she is."

TOGETHER

Between us we bring over 45 years of professional experience in leadership, HR, employment law, coaching, and menopause specialism. We are sisters who have worked separately across very different fields and come together in this work because we believe the combination of what we each bring is exactly what organisations need right now.

We work as a team, think as a team, and show up for our clients as a team. What you get with MSS is not a solo practitioner with a support network. It is two deeply experienced professionals who are equally invested in your outcomes.
